More inferences were made about the missing Malaysian airliner that went missing last week as new information was found. Police have searched the home of the aircraft’s captain for any evidence of him being involved. Many investigators believe the plane’s communications reporting system was cut, and the plane was steered west. There have also been suspicions of it being flown off-course by the pilot or the co-pilot, as there hasn’t been any released information on any passengers with knowledge of how to fly. They made it very clear that investigations are still going on and no large conclusions regarding its disappearance have been drawn.

More news was released about the standoff in Libya between the North Korean oil tanker that illegally docked in a Libyan port and the Libyan government. Libya’s Ambassador Ibraham Dabbashi told the UN that the international community needs to help Libya in detaining the ship so forceful actions do not need to be carried out. Forcefully attempting to detain the ship could cause a major oil spill, polluting a large area of the Mediterranean. However, there are two sides to this story, one side being told by Libyan Culture Minister Habib al-Ameen. He claimed that the oil tanker was under control of the naval forces, and said militias were not involved on the side of the government. Essam al-Jahani, who is affiliated to the eastern militia, disagreed with Habib’s statement, saying he had arrested people fighting for the government.
